We at Taygeta Scientific do so much via electronic means that we have decided to adopt PGP as a standard to encrypting sensitive information.
Useful Note for running PGP on multiple platforms: This might be in the books or FAQs somewhere but I haven't found it. If you are running PGP, like me, on several platforms, create your key on one system and copy your secret ring to your other machines. If you try to create the key from scratch on each machine you will get different keys, even if you used the same pass phrase each time.
